Vanquishing Shing Jea Island -HELP!!
So this is my first post, I subscribed soley for this, but I'm sure I'll continue using this site afterwards...
So basically, I'm familiar with the whole vanquishing thing, I've finished tyria a couple weeks ago, and figured Cantha would be a breeze. The hero builds that I currently have are a full Sabway, SoS, SF nuker, Duo mimicry monk and generic monk healer.
Thing is I've tried just about every variation of these in 4 man and I can't do Shing Jea Island (4man areas) worth @$!#
I am a warrior, i mainly use the Dragon Slash build which proves excellent on single targets, with a bit of AoE (especially with an splinter weapon on me). At one point, I tried tinkering with Hundred Blades for Shing Jea since single target didn't seem to cut it.
For the life of me, I cannot do these maps. With 2 healers/ 2 dps i can barely get by their healers, and with 1 healer /3dps i get wiped constantly. Even with the 2 healers I slowly gain DP and then its a wipe fest. I'm having particular trouble with the groups containing Rits and Healers.
PLEASE help me out here, what heros should I bring in for this as a Warrior myself.

If there are only 4 men, get more - summons and pets or keep foes dazed and blind.
For yourself get Asuran Scan, it assures you hitting hexed foe for all cost. And if hexed foe dies, you lose 5% DP. Technobable is also very good for casters. SY and There's nothing to fear are fine too.
Get BS air ele with some psych support skills like Mark of Pain or Barbs or some para commands. If you keep them blind, they won't be able to hurt you.
(OgRDcJycSXV6QLgfDWC7OAAhDA)
You can't forget SoS with Ancestors' Rage and Splinter (and Shadowsong if you don't bring BS).
(OACjAOiMJPXzyJAoa6NxYMzLGA)
Also add one UA healer or hybrid. UA returns you into battle immediately and Asuran Scan removes DP, so you won't hit 60%.
(OwUTMwmCZqBc6bjoLCAoHIDghAA)
This worked well on my assassin, so I hope it will help you too.
Good luck
Edit: Don't forget that Seitung and Zen Daijun outposts allow you larger groups. so there are only 4 areas with 4ppl limit.
But tell me, how did you VQ Ascalon if you can't VQ Shinig Jea?

What he said ^^
I got my Derv threw 4 man areas in a very similar fashion.
As a Melee, you pretty much have to have an SOS w/ splinter, UA monk w/ Mez 2nd for energy management, and some kind of damage dealer (I use an AoTL MM with with a Rit 2ndary for the extra heals. The most important thing is to pull foes with a longbow while your heroes are flagged at least 1/2 an aggro bubble away from you(the white ring around you). In harder 4 man areas, failing to pull correctly will sometimes wipe your party.

Discordway is the team build the most used in 4 player areas.
If your a melee character, and do not want to be a ''caster'' and spam Assassin's Promise ; you can always use Asuran Scan.
It's spam able and pretty useful

It's possible that they have the WoC spawns....which make them some of the hardest VQs in the game.

Since today's Zvanq was Cho's Estate, I decided to try it on my Paragon (imba with standard of honor), who is 100k exp away from legendary survivor. I finished without any deaths using:
-Rt hero 1: sos, bloodsong, splinter, a.rage, spirit light, mend b&s, life and spirit syphon.
-Rt hero 2: ST, shadowsong, dissonance, union, spirit light, mend b&s, spirit syphon and boon of creation
-MM hero: minnion bomber with jagged bones; Prot. spirit and aegis
I'm sure there are better combinations (now that I am writing this prot spirit didn't do shite as I had SY, TNTF and union -_-), but basically it's what has been said before: increase your numbers; and watch the aggro^^

I formed a very functional 8 man group, and I 6 manned most of the 4's, with a few exeptions. I never worked much in 4s.

Hero 1 -> N/Mo (or N/Rt), minion master with heal or prot (the elite skill should be WoH, ZB or Xinrae's Weapon);
Hero 2 -> Rt/Me, spiritspammer with a heal or two (and an optional interrupt);
Hero 3 -> E/Me, warder with rupts and an AoE nuke or two;
Player -> some DPS.
Basically what i used for most of the 4man areas.

I think most of you don't get that this area is changed after WoC, the OP isn't talking about before you do the quests but after you do them..... I've tried your setups and you get slaughtered still....
Go do the WoC Quest set then go back to the estate in HM and try it.....
I want video of you making it past the first few groups.....

FINISHED
So I just finished it, without starting WoC. When I finally got the builds worked out it was (almost) a breaze if done right.
As a warrior, I used this build OQASQ5KTXF9F7gZFDGnicFvl
I would never reccomend this build for anything else, but after failing this area about 10 times and perfecting all the skills in each four builds, this one worked out perfectly.
I use Hundred Blades and Whirlwind attack once my hero puts Splinter Weapon on me, and that totally just rapes any group clumped together, especially the ritualists with their spirits up. I also use some Tactics skills for personal defence (as I run in) and party support.
For the three heroes I bring with me, I mainly followed Drowze's advice with the MM and 2 Rits, with one major exeption. The way Drowze had it going, with him as an Imbagon, the heals from the heroes didn't need to be nearly as strong.
So I had my MM use this OANDUshtSaE3NbEVBoB4BKgVVA
The main purpose of the mm when it comes to vanquishing in 4 man isn't damage, its defence. The idea is to have a group of minions form a wall and keep your party safe. The main damage they provide is when they explode with death nova. So instead of using an elite that just makes another kind of minion, I put Word of Healing on him lol. Sounds ridiculous but this almost single handedly fixed one of the biggest issues I had as a warrior facing this place. I put a 2 more cheap heals and kept the skills needed to upkeep and buff the minions.
I would reccomend this for someone lacking in heals/ heavy support.
The other two builds are pretty much what drowze gave.
I would strongly reccomend any Warrior to take this in consideration if you're having major trouble with this area. Worked LIKE A CHARM.

I did yesterday Minister Cho estate after WoC with this build on my Sin OwFj0xezITBQPPNMHMvltlXFxgA
i used cons for faster cause it is a very big vanquish and the best to have is honeycomps for your heroes so they can't reach full DP.
Hope this helps fellow Sins and not only!
with a RT OACkAahsoQuD28sl5ecTOppzkZC
another RT OACjEyiM5MXzyJGzbO5kmMzxJA
And a N/RT OAhkUsG2hEyj1eKUFQDYCp5kr5D

I suggest you take the 'rescue at minister cho's estate' on hardmode in WoC if you did it on normal mode to vanquish. Bringing Zi Rei helps a lot, hes lvl 28 and the scavenger mobs are just ridiculous

Do you think this will be changed? It's just ridiculous and stupid that one needs such specialized builds, cons and a summon for this (I'm talking from a casual player's view) to vanquish ONE area! Let's not forget that 2 HoM titles are at stake here...
I H/H'd DoA, FoW and Deep (on NM, but still). For the life of me, I can't vanquish this... abomination, and it's pissing me off.
/sadpanda
edit: I just did it, together with Cleansing MCE HM. Took me 4 hours and I used cons (at the very end to be SURE I'll save the last peasant).
Did I enjoy it? NOT A SINGLE MINUTE. This is a bad game design and that is all.
I have much respect for people who did with Scavenger spawns on HM. For me it's simply impossible.

I have my legendary vanquisher and I don't remember any area on Shing Jea being an issue. I was on my rit w/SoS, used discord heros, a healer and ... I just don't remember. I used a 6 man party when I could, leaving from Ran Misu to do Kinya and Panjiang. Sunqua was so easy, I did it solo. I achieved legendary before the 8 hero update. Sure would have been nice to have all heros.
I can, however, relate to your frustration... glad to see you worked it out. Only two vanquishes come to mind that were complete bitches, and they drove me nuts: Hidden City of Ahdashim and Garden of Seborhin. We all have our problem areas and those two were mine. I really don't recall any other vanquish that drove me nuts like these two.... oh and Mirror of Lyss wasn't much fun. Those roaring ethers and the djinn really punch my ticket... ugh.
